ACTION
We are called to participate in Tikkun Olam - to "heal the world." We do so not simply as individuals, but in community. We affirm the interconnectedness of all things. As Dr. King said, "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere."

Centering Space is committed to supporting engagement in works of justice and compassion both in virtual space and in our world. We seek to dismantle structures and systems of oppression that disproportionally affect people of color, LGBTQ persons, women, children, and all whose voices have been muted. We are also committed to grow and learn, so that those of us who have benefited from unjust privilege may learn how to best participate in lives of wholeness, compassion, justice, and, where possible, healing.

Sabeel is an ecumenical grassroots liberation theology movement among Palestinian Christians. Inspired by the life and teaching of Jesus Christ, this liberation theology seeks to deepen the faith of Palestinian Christians, to promote unity among them and lead them to act for justice and peace. Each week, a prayer is shared in light of what is going on in this region. To join in prayer, click here.
Volunteer Opportunities for Village to Village

Welcome Home - Set up teams for move ins for our refugee families. This includes unloading the trailer, making beds, hanging clothes, washing all the dishes and setting up the house. Usually takes two to three hours. We normally do week nights but occasionally do Saturday mornings.
Refugee Meal Team - A team willing to cook for one of our once-a month meals for refugee families. We have a volunteer that can help the team with understanding how we run this and the food we would need provided. Team would cook, serve and be available to share time with families. This is always the last Tuesday of the month.
Set up Warehouse - Individuals who are willing to hang clothes, put away dishes, toys, books, decor and more after our collection nights and other times when needed. This happens on Fridays 4:00-7:00, always the Friday after the second Tuesday of each month but possibly more.
Christmas Refugee Collection - Individuals willing to collect/donate items for this event. Possibly volunteers willing to come the week of the event, pack for a family and deliver to that family. We are unsure of how many we will need at this point. Collection items would be women's, men's, and children's coats, hats, gloves, scarves, children's books, toys and games.
If you would like to participate or would like more information, contact Heidi Dove at info.village2village@gmail.com
Open Doors (Harrisonburg/Rockingham County’s shelter for those experiencing homelessness) is in a period of transition and is in need of the items listed here.

Please bring your contribution to the Church House anytime during regular office hours (M-F, 9:00-3:00) or on Sunday morning. There will be a container in the corner of the COMMONS for you to place your items. THANK YOU for your participation in this worthy cause. We will have more information regarding Trinity’s service with Open Doors during the upcoming ‘Thermal Season’ (November-April) sometime in September.
